Portugal has emerged as one of Europe’s most dynamic renewable energy frontiers. Under its updated National Energy and Climate Plan (PNEC 2030), Portugal targets to source 85% of its electricity mix from renewable sources. Central to this strategy is the rapid scaling of utility-scale photovoltaics (PV), agrivoltaic complexes, and decentralized commercial and industrial (C&I) solar architectures. However, Portugal's geographical uniqueness introduces strict engineering and structural challenges that demand high-spec components, specifically regarding structural anodized aluminum frames.
With an extensive coastline extending over 1,700 kilometers, many solar plants in regions like Setúbal, Sines, Algarve, and the Porto region are situated within the C4 (High) to C5 (Very High) corrosivity categories according to the ISO 9223 standard. Marine aerosols containing high concentrations of sodium chloride, coupled with intense UV radiation typical of southern Portugal (exceeding 2,000 kWh/m²/year), accelerate localized pitting and galvanic corrosion in low-quality frames.
To mitigate this risk, Yuxin’s structural solar frames undergo specialized anodization processes. We deliver frames with a coating thickness of 15μm to 25μm (Qualanod Certified). This robust oxide layer acts as a barrier, neutralizing salt spray intrusion and preventing the early degradation of modules, thereby ensuring the 25-to-30-year operational life demanded by project financiers and local utilities like EDP.
Due to the aggressive Atlantic weather fronts, structural elements of solar arrays in Portugal must be built to withstand high dynamic mechanical loads. Project sites in open regions require adherence to Eurocode 1 (Actions on Structures) and Eurocode 9 (Design of Aluminium Structures). Standard solar panels with poor structural designs risk failure during high wind events.
Using high-strength 6005-T6 aluminum alloys, Yuxin manufactures framing profiles capable of resisting positive pressures up to 5400 Pa and negative wind suction up to 2400 Pa. The specialized geometric profile design minimizes deflection, preventing micro-cracking in the silicon wafers. This structural integrity ensures consistent power generation under real-world stress conditions.
Pioneering lightweight, low-carbon composite and aluminum solutions for next-generation PV modules.
The global solar industry is transitioning towards thin-film structures, larger format modules (M10 and G12 wafers), and high-efficiency architectures like N-Type TOPCon and HJT. As module dimensions expand, the mechanical bending moment on the frame increases exponentially. Globally, this has triggered a shift in frame engineering:
Yuxin’s technology roadmap integrates these trends. With 21+ automated production lines, our facilities process raw aluminum and composite polymers to precise tolerances, matching the requirements of tier-1 module factories and EPC companies across Europe.
